Roberto Alcazar
EVP, Executive Creative Director Roberto’s career in advertising spans over 20 years, working in Latin America, and the U.S. for top advertising agencies such as FCB, Saatchi & Saatchi, Grey Global, and IPG's Mediabrands. Over this time, Roberto worked for a wide range of companies such as Colgate-Palmolive, US Bank, DIAGEO, Panasonic, P&G, Molson Coors, General Motors, The Home Depot, General Mills, HBO, ACE Hardware, Verizon, The United Nations, Dish Networks, SlingTV, and The Ad Council. Recognition for his creative work includes Clio, Addys, New York Festival, and Advertising Age Creative Award among others. In 2015, The Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History added his work for The Ad Council to its permanent collection of Hispanic advertising in the United States. His career in the film industry includes producing independent feature films and documentaries. His first feature documentary, YASUNI, premiered at the Miami International Film Festival and started a tour of selected screenings, including the NY Lincoln Center's Film Society and Yale University. Most recently, he produced the romantic comedy "Looking For Maria Sanchez" (200 Cartas), starring Lin-Manuel Miranda. The film was featured in The New York Times as a unique case of brand integration in independent films. |
Karina Dobarro
EVP, Managing Partner, Horizon Media With over 15 years of experience, Karina joined Horizon in 2014 to launch the multicultural practice. She was instrumental in the creation and launch of 305 Worldwide, and also currently serves as Horizon’s international lead for Local Planet. Karina is also a member of Horizon's DEI Council and founding member of Horizon Unidos (BRG), where she facilitates agency events and partnerships to help the advancement of diversity, equity and inclusion efforts within the agency. In 2019, Karina and her multicultural practice work on behalf of Sprint was recognized with an Effie and a NAMIC Multicultural Excellence Award. Prior to Horizon Media, Karina was at GroupM for seven years where she oversaw Multicultural and LatAm initiatives for AT&T, Macy’s, Unilever, and Volkswagen, among other top brands. In 2020, Karina was honored by Adweek as a Media All Star, by Cynopsis as a Top Women in Media and Industry Leader, and received the Executive Leadership Award at the Annual Hispanic Television Summit. Karina was born in Buenos Aires, grew up in Honolulu, attended college in San Francisco, and now calls New York City home. |
Leena Danan
SVP, Managing Director For over 14 years, Leena has called Horizon home, with stints across the Brand Strategy, Business Development, Marketing and Press divisions. For this work, Leena was recognized in the industry’s most recognized week – being named to the inaugural class of Future is Female award recipients at Advertising Week. In 2021, Leena joined 305 Worldwide to lead Strategy for the buzzing agency. It was not long before she made herself an invaluable resource across the agency’s Business Development, Marketing and Press initiatives as well. She has a breadth of agency experience from Carat, Zenith and the likes, and has added her signature flair to iconic brands such as Chivas Regal, Stoli, Trident, Dentyne, Sour Patch Kids, Novartis, Kodak, and Michelin, among others. Beyond Advertising, Leena is a Mom, Author, Interior Designer, Property Manager, Board Member and Master of Strategic Communications. In an interracial, interfaith marriage raising two Indian/Hindu/Italian/Polish/Catholic children, Leena did not have a resource guide on life, so she decided to write one. She envisioned and created Sasha Sunflowa, a colorful and endearing sunflower with an eye patch with a star to convey strength through individuality, and a heart mouth to share words of love (Sasha Sunflowa: An Alphabet of Happy is available on Amazon). Leena and her husband, also renovate and rent fabulous beach properties. The couple has showcased their “ecluxe living” (eclectic + luxe) design style and distinct personalities on HGTV's House Hunters... they were also approached to appear in an ad integration featured in the show. Leena earned her M.S. in Strategic Communications from Columbia University, and currently serves on the Board for The Atlantic Beach Estates Association Inc.. |
